This article is devoted to the scientific achievements of Professor Miroslaw Mossakowski, who died a year ago an eminent neuroscientist-neuropathologist, a longtime director of the Centre for Experimental and Clinical Medicine, Polish Academy of Sciences, from 1998 until the death of the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The facts of his professional life, supplemented by reflections of personal contacts and references to the current state of knowledge in areas of interest to the professor, and against this background research achievements of its students, documenting his remarkable scientific intuition, and especially the gift of predicting future directions of research on the physiology and pathology of the brain .
